Plant Tours

On Wednesday morning, attendees will board buses for a tour of the Cardinal Glass Industries plant facilities. Busses will depart between 8:00 am and 8:30 am, and return between 11:30 and noon.  Travel time is approximately 45 minutes and the tour lasts about 1-1/2 hours on site.

Cardinal Glass Industries leads the industry in the development of residential glass for windows and doors, with more than 5,500 employees located at 27 manufacturing locations around the United States.  They provide a turnkey solution to window manufacturers: whether it starts with insulating glass, coated, laminated, tempered or just plain float glass, it is all designed to provide the latest in applied glass science.  Our tour will visit their Northfield, Minnesota, coated glass plant.

Tour of Sage Electrochromics

As an added value, we are offering a tour of the SAGE Electrochromics high-volume manufacturing facility in Faribault, MN.  Space on this early tour is limited  so please sign up now if you would like to go.  Following the visit to SAGE, the tour bus will travel to Cardinal Industries and continue the morning tour there. The bus for this tour will depart promptly at 7:30 am and will return at 12:00 pm.

SAGE Electrochromics, Inc. is a manufacturer of electronically tintable  electrochromic glass, for use in building windows and skylights, that can be switched from clear to darkly tinted at the click of a button, or programmed to respond to changing sunlight and heat conditions.  The tour will show how this technology works, and also showcase SAGE’s production capabilities.
